What is Digital Marketing?
According to Wikipedia, "Digital marketing is the component of marketing that uses online digital technologies such as desktop computers, mobile phones and other digital media and platforms to promote products and services." I would add that it includes visual media such as video and photography and incorporates social media platforms to reach a targeted and engaged audience. There are several factors to consider when planning a digital marketing strategy.
- Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)
Search engine optimisation, also known as SEO, uses both on and off page methods to ensure that a website is visible to search engines like Google and can be found by potential customers. Search engines look at the actual content of web pages, as well as external factors, such as links from other authoritative web properties when deciding where to place a site in the "rankings". A website that can only be found on the 3rd page of results may as well not be there at all, few web users dig deeper than the 1st or 2nd page when searching Google. SEO is something I've been doing for over 20 years and I can bring that experience to benefit your business.

Content creation is the contribution of information, especially in the form of digital media for a specific audience or end user. Digital content is the foundation of all modern marketing efforts and takes many forms, including web pages, blogs, infographics, videos, photography, social media posts and written copy. When discussing content creation, we are for the most part referring to either content for SEO (search engine optimisation), or content for social media.

Paid ads on Google are an effective way of getting qualified customers to a website or app. Google Ads allows you to create ads, on both mobile and desktop for your target audience. Done right your business will show up on the search engine results page (SERP) at the moment your ideal customers are looking for products and services like yours via Google Search or Google Maps. But done wrong, it can end up costing a lot of cash for very little results. I've been managing Google Ads for years, and was one of the first individuals to be certified as a Google Ads Professional in South Africa. Building a strong brand through social media marketing, using striking visuals and catchy language, on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin etc, is absolutely essential. It follows that a video marketing strategy needs to be geared towards maximising engagement, building trust and increasing real world sales. Ensuring that your video content is easily found has to be a priority, because video is fast becoming the primary way that web users are looking for information.
